Sunday Street Ministry--Every Sunday Morning...we engage in Street Ministry in the CVS parking lot in Camden before church...8:00am until about 9:30am...we serve over 200 people (anyone God sends...homeless, drug addicts, prostitutes...anyone who finds him or herself on the street). A different church or ministry covers every Sunday of the year with supplies and servants. This is an awesome way to practically demonstrate the love of Christ in a practical way to the least, the last and the lost.
Saturday Morning Outreach Breakfasts--Every Saturday we serve a hot breakfast to those on the street at the VOA in Camden. We pick people up right off the street in the ministry bus. The Lord sends anywhere between 150 and 300 people. Many of the servants sit down with our guests and engage them in conversation and, as the Lord leads and allows, they share the reason for the hope that they have! We start setting up at 8am, cooking at 8:30am, serving at 9:15am and are wrapped up by around 11:00am. A great way to get involved with SOHM!!
Sunday Evening Soup Ministry--Every Sunday Evening…from December through March…homemade soup, sandwiches and drinks served up along with the love of Christ. CVS parking lot from 6:00pm until 8pm. We need servants for this outreach. The Lord sends 100 people or more each Sunday evening and we need people to talk with and pray with those individuals.
Good Friday Outreach—We have two simultaneous outreaches on Good Friday. A small group of ladies reach out and minister to the girls on Broadway using the ministry bus…food, clothing, toiletries, prayer and the love of Christ is shared to the least of these. At the same time, a team of servants sets up the “Prayer Station” and our own Christian DJ on the sidewalk on Martin Luther King Blvd. near the Transportation Center. While gospel and worship music plays in the background, the team prays for and with anyone the Lord sends.
Thanksgiving Turkey/Food Boxes—we collect and distribute turkeys and all of the trimmings for an awesome Thanksgiving dinner and then deliver them to Angel Tree families, families connected to the Fellowship House and other needy families in our South Camden neighborhood. The distribution occurs on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. In years past, we have had approximately 100 people there to sort items, pack boxes and hand-deliver them to the families. Christmas Morning--Serving those on the street on Christmas morning has become a family tradition for many. We have been hitting the streets on Christmas morning for 12 years. In the beginning, a large team of servants (50 or so) used to worship, pray, make sandwiches and snacks and then head downtown to reach the people on the street. Now, that same group of servants worshiped, prayed and then prepared and served a Christmas morning breakfast. It was awesome!!! We had the opportunity to bless about a few hundred people who found themselves on the street on Christmas morning. Click here to see how you can help!
My Father's Hands is one of the three "branches" of Seeds of Hope Ministries. We are excited to serve those who find themselves in need...those who are hungry, cold, homeless and lost. Each week we feed, clothe and share God's love with these precious souls. Please consider joining with us either as a volunteer or by supporting My Father's Hands as we continue to meet the needs of the homeless in Camden.
