"Oh,taste and see that The Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him."
I wanted to start this weeks update with a praise and thank you for all of your prayers. As you know, last week Angelina was here for a final court appearance. Part of our journey of redemption is sometimes uneasy as we stare boldly at the wreckage from our past. As Bill and I sat in the court room with her we prayed and felt assured that the Lord would go before her, still she sat a bit uneasy. The prosecutor was all business in the court room, so we talked and thought that when she is given the opportunity to speak with him we should ask him to dismiss all the charges. Crazy right? Ultimately, we felt that given her journey to this point we could ask and trust that no matter what happened as a result of their conversation, God was sovereign and would provide the grace necessary for whatever the judge decided.
Ok, so you already know where I am going with this right? As we sat waiting until there were only about six of us left in the courtroom, Angelina was called in with the prosecutor, who said to her almost immediately, "What can I do for you? I want to help you." Unbelievable, right? Well, of course, because our God is so Awesome and many of you were praying. The judge dismissed all the charges, with no fines, no court costs! We left there amazed, overwhelmed and more importantly, Angelina is continuing to see how God is going before her and ordering her steps. She has been asked to begin interning at the home, a prayer that we have had for sometime. She will, by God's grace, continue in that position for at least six more months and then enter the emerging leaders program. It is such a reminder of although we make plans, God orders our steps. Please pray that God will provide the means for her to repay her other fines and also provide the money she needs to get her license restored. She is stepping out in complete faith here and is trusting God to make the way for her to earn what she needs to fulfill her obligations while she interns at the home.
Your continued prayers and support in every way allows us the opportunity to continue to touch these beautiful women with the love of Christ, and to demonstrate the mercy and grace He so lavishly pours out on each one of our lives to women who so desperately need to feel it. We continue to seek these broken, precious daughters with the Hope of the redeeming love of our God and know that He is able to do all things in the time and way that only He can. Please pray for continued strength and protection, as we seek justice for these most often rejected and exploited women.
We love you guys, Brenda and the SHAN team
