Thanksgiving Eve Turkey Dinner ....on the bus on Broadway

Psalms 106: 1-6,8 "Praise The Lord! Oh give thanks to The Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever! Blessed are those who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times! Remember me, O Lord, when you show favor to your people; help me when you save them, that I may look upon the prosperity of your chosen ones. Both we and our fathers have sinned,we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedness. Our fathers, when they were in Egypt did not consider your wondrous works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea. Yet he saved them for his name's sake, that He might make known His mighty power."
It always amazes us at just how specific God's love is for His people. This year's dinner had the mercy and grace of our loving Heavenly Father all over it. From the moment we hit Broadway in a spot way above where we usually hang, God was in command of the evening. Our first girl was Amanda. Many of you have known her and been praying for her for years. She is really the most broken we have ever seen her, but no matter what her state of mind, the love of The Lord always draws her close. After eating and getting warm clothing, she left the bus and as we embraced she just began sobbing, uncontrollably. Please pray she will surrender and that God will somehow cause the circumstances to get her help. She is completely unable to leave the bondage she is in on her own and truly seems as though she has lost all Hope. We need you to pray without ceasing for her release from this bondage she is in.
As we were about to leave that location and head back up Broadway a young woman came running by, who had no coat on. It was freezing that night, and she had just been pistol whipped at a date and drug transaction gone terribly wrong. She was very lucky to have escaped and was holding a tissue to a gaping hole in her cheekbone. We ran after her and offered her help but she wouldn't stop. She said her mother was in a car somewhere waiting for her...a very vivid picture of the reality of life on the streets. As we headed back up Broadway and landed at Spruce street, the bus didn't cease to be filled until all the food was gone. It was a lavish feast complete with pumpkin pie and whip cream. Thanks Debbie C. for your heart so many years ago that has lead to this wonderful yearly event. So many of the girls expressed how sad they were to be apart from their families and thankfulness for the special meal. There were many prayers, tears, hugs and conversation as God gave us all the opportunity to love on His precious broken ones. Please continue to pray that God will redeem one life at a time as only he is able to set the captives free. We love these women so much and know that God is the only one able to set them free?
We love you guys, Brenda and the SHAN team, plus Debbie C.,and Kim M.
It was a great Thanksgiving Eve on the ministry bus as the SHAN team drove around, picked-up some of the ladies that walk the streets of Broadway, fed them a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner and ministered the Love of Christ to each of them!  Thanks to those who cooked, served and loved on these ladies
